Black Men Coalition of Dane County (BMCDC) is a Madison, WI-based non-profit dedicated to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for vulnerable populations. Founded in 2020, initially to uplift Black men and youth and dismantle stereotypes, BMCDC has expanded its mission to proudly support individuals of all races and genders. The organization achieves this through comprehensive programs focused on community involvement, mentorship, education, employment skills, and supported housing.
BMCDC's unique approach is rooted in the lived experiences of its founders—Black men who have overcome systemic barriers. This perspective allows BMCDC to effectively reach and empower those often overlooked by traditional human service systems, breaking down barriers to opportunity and replacing isolation with connection. Their initiatives include supportive housing, job readiness and supported employment, financial literacy classes, transportation services, and professional development scholarships through eCornell.
By providing these vital resources, Black Men Coalition of Dane County generates a sense of belonging, promotes independent living, and cultivates positive outcomes for its community members. They are committed to influencing positive change and enabling individuals to realize their full strength and potential, contributing to a stronger, more inclusive Dane County.
