Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists, Inc. (VRSI) is dedicated to empowering eligible veterans to achieve their maximum vocational potential. Founded by John Garske, a former military police and US Army Pilot, VRSI originated from a Department of Labor Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) grant and has since expanded to 19 offices across eight states, including Wisconsin. VRSI collaborates closely with Disabled Veteran Outreach Programs (DVOPs), County Veteran Service Offices (CVSOs), and other veteran service organizations to connect program participants with vital training and employment opportunities.
What sets VRSI apart is its "boots on the ground" approach, engaging in extensive community outreach to reach veterans wherever they are. Recognizing that many veterans may have faced challenges with government entities or simply don't know where to start, VRSI provides hands-on support. This includes community outreach, offering food and gas cards to assist with interview attendance and basic needs, and robust job placement services. Once enrolled, VRSI commits to working with veterans for a full year, ensuring sustained support regardless of their employment status.
